The Hawaii Department of Education appointed Energy Industries as its renewable energy consultant.
The thirteen elected members on the Board of Education are responsible for all policy decisions for public schools and libraries in the state. Energy Industries has provided a number of advisory services for the board, including ranking schools for photovoltaic (PV) potential, request for proposal creation, bid evaluation, and project management and commissioning. Energy Industries also developed a ranking system to determine which schools are in need of air conditioning or passive cooling measures.
